We devise hands-on musical adventures exploring sound, stories and creativity in the classroom.
Inspire
Our Inspire programme introduces students to the instruments of the orchestra through a full day of performances and interactive workshops. Students get to hear the music up close with our players, spanning classical, folk, and pop repertoire, all with clear links to the National Curriculum.
In classroom workshops for Key Stage 2, we help students discover how music can express feelings and create scenes. Through guided listening, improvisation, and composition, students work with our musicians to create and perform their own short piece of music using body percussion and singing. Sessions can be shaped around current class topics and adapted for Key Stage 1 and SEN settings.
Training for teachers
In 2024, we piloted our first teacher training programme in partnership with Croydon Music & Arts, our local music education hub. Through consultation with teachers and schools, we learned that composition is the part of the curriculum they feel least confident delivering.
In response to this learning, our teaching training sessions are focussed around building confidence and giving teachers simple and accessible tools to teach using non-standard notation and exercises.
Today’s CPD session at Holy Trinity was amazing and such a privilege. The musicians were inspiring, professional and innovative leaders who were enthusiastic about what they do! One of the best training sessions I’ve ever had.Teacher, Holy Trinity school
